Kelpie exists in the space between image and object, where swimwear is developed as part of a wider visual language rather than a seasonal cycle. Rooted in instinct, movement, and transformation, the brand sits in the tension between elegance and wildness, with pieces designed to feel both refined and untamed.

Kelpie takes its name from the mythological water spirit: elusive, alluring, and powerful. That duality informs its approach to design, balancing minimal silhouettes with an underlying sense of intensity and freedom.

Founded in Australia, each piece is designed on Dharug Land and produced in limited quantities through a small network of manufacturers in China. Fabrics are selected for softness, durability, and performance in salt and chlorine, with an emphasis on longevity and wearability.

Rather than follow a seasonal structure, Kelpie approaches swimwear as part of a broader world-building practice encompassing image-making, styling, texture, colour, and atmosphere. Each release is considered as a contained visual moment, existing briefly and intentionally before the next.
